Zaurus MPEG-1 and MPEG-2 Encoding How-to

MPEG-1:
Download the TMPGEnc Encoder Version 2.57 and VFAPI plug-in for TMPGEnc www.tmpgenc.com/
Download the Quicktime reader plug-in for TMPGEnc http://www.dawnload.net/plug-ins/other_plug-ins/qtreader.cfm
Open up the encoder.
Click on the Browse button next to Video source and open up the file that you want to encode. Note the destination file name.
Click on the Settings tab at the bottom right of the window.
Apply the following settings under the video tab:
Video Stream = MPEG-1 Video
Size = 320 x 240
Aspect Ratio = 1:1 (VGA)
Frame Rate = 60 fps
Rate Control Mode = 2-pass VBR(VBR)
Motion Search Precision = Normal
Click on the settings button next to Rate Control Mode and apply the following setting and then hit OK.
Average Bitrate = 400
Maximum Bitrate = 500
Minimum Bitrate = 350
Max pass = 2-pass (Old type)
Go to the Audio tab and apply these changes and then hit OK.
Stream Type = MPEG-1 Audio Layer II
Sampling Frequency = 44100 HZ
Channel Mode = Stereo
Bitrate = 64 kbits/sec
Close the setting window by clicking on the OK button.
Click on the Start button at the top left corner and wait till it gets to 100%.
Once the entire file has been encoded, transfer the file onto your Zaurus using either Intellisync or Qtopia Desktop.
MPEG-2:
Video Settings:
Video Stream = MPEG-2 Video
Size = 320 x 240
Aspect Ratio = 1:1 (VGA)
Frame Rate = 30 fps
Rate Control Mode = 2-pass VBR (VBR)
Profile & Level: Main Profile & and Main Level (MP@ML)
Video Format: NTSC
Encode Mode: Non-interlace
YUV Format: 4:2:0
DC Component Precision: 10 bits
Motion Search Precision = Normal
Rate Control Mode Settings:
Average Bitrate = 400
Maximum Bitrate = 500
Minimum Bitrate = 350
Max pass = 2-pass (Old type)
Audio Settings:
Stream Type = MPEG-1 Audio Layer II
Sampling Frequency = 44100 HZ
Channel Mode = Stereo
Bitrate = 64 kbits/sec
