About the Database
Senate Bill 1519 (Chapter 258 of the Statutes of 1996) authorizes the California Department of Justice to maintain a publicly accessible Internet directory of wanted persons. This is not a comprehensive directory of all persons wanted for crimes in California.
Records shown in this directory meet the following criteria:
- An outstanding warrant for the subject has been in the California Wanted Persons System and the National Crime Information Center Wanted Person File.
- The wanting agency must be willing to transport or extradite the fugitive from the jurisdiction where he or she is apprehended.
- The arrest warrant must be for one of the violent felony offenses specified in the California Penal Code Section 667.5.
