Consumer Refunds
California consumers may be eligible for refund payments for certain losses involving travel services. By state law, the refunds apply to only claimants who were located in California at the time of the sale.
A consumer seeking refunds must have suffered losses of $50 or more. A claim also must be filed within one year from the scheduled date of completion of the travel. Claims are considered only for losses from payments made to a registered seller of travel who participates in the state refund program.
To file a claim, please read the Instructions and complete the Claim Form and Waiver Form.
Under the program, consumers will be submitting their refund claims to the Travel Consumer Restitution Corporation, a nonprofit organization created to review claims and administer the Travel Consumer Restitution Fund. The Attorney General's Seller of Travel program does not review these consumer claims.
In seeking a refund from the Travel Consumer Restitution Fund, consumers waive their right to bring another claim in court, including small claims court, against the seller of travel.
