This is my story:
I won two tickets for the Coca-Cola live in
Milan but I had no intention to go because I live very far from Milan
and the groups who had to perform there didn't
interest me.
But two days before the show MTV revealed
that the special guests were... THE CURE! I decided instantly to go,
since I had missed the two shows in Italy
(Imola and Naples).
I had the luck to be in the front row,
the performance of the Cure was short but very brilliant. To tell the truth,
not so short, 35 minutes when instead I thought
they'd played only one-two songs.
I was pleasantly surprised when they began
with Lost, a song I love already very much, followed then by another
of my fav songs: Fascination Street!
By the way Robert was late and the staff of
MTV was worried, while the other were already there very soon, when
I arrived at seven Jason and Roger were
on stage talking with technicians.
At the end of the gig Robert seemed disappointed
he could not play more, and he almost apologized with us. It
seemed really finished when they came back
on stage and played Boys don't cry.
They played three songs from the new album
and they really seemed at the best of their form. This is the second
time I see them after Conegliano in 2002,
and I really didn't hope to see them this year!

Short but nice.
MTV free gig for CocaCola with giveaway tickets
(if you bought the drink you could win). Until Monday only
PHOENIX ASH and ARTICOLO31 (one of the worst
but most popular italian bands) were scheduled.
I have no idea how all the cure fans have
managed to get the tickets, but believe me the atmosphere was like a
real CURE gig. At the beginning the crowd
was calm and still (even during FASCINATION) listening to new
songs. With HEAVEN people woke up, but as
soon as PLAY4TODAY began everyone went mad, singing along
oooh oohh ohhh oohh ohh ohhh (at this point
I understood that the crowd was real CURE hardcore fans)
Forest with all the 'Parco Sempione' trees
and the green light was touching as usual
Then the presenters came on stage announcing
the show was over, but after a short break we saw Robert coming
back saying: "we've got 3 minutes more" and
they played a fantastic BOYSDONTCRY with all the crowd dancing
madly jumping pushing screaming and laughing...
very nice feeling

I saw the Cocacola live show on TV...and I
wished I were there!!! The Cure performance has been OK, they had
the right verve and the sound in tv was ok.
The setlist was rightly representative (good choise of the old stuff,
maybe not the same about the new songs - my
favourite new songs are Labyrinth, Before three, I don't know
what's goin on, Taking off, Anniversary and
The promise: they only played Before three).
I'd really like to see them live again this year!! Will they come back in Italy?!

I'm really tired, 3 concerts in 5 days... I'm not so young to do all this things without problems....
We were really lucky, we had no pass, but as
we live very near we said: why not? And we went to the Castello
My husband, a no fear man, started to ask
around, in a polite way, for two passes and he has been so lucky to get
them from a very kind man of the security.
Thank you!
We waited for the Cure sitting on the grass,
drinking a free Coca cola, than, when all the supporter finished, we
tried to reach the front following a very
big and drunk boy shouting: "GO away you! We want to see the cure,
you don't like them, GO away!" Thank you boy!
I believe that MTV is really useless, but the
concert was really well organized! The sound was perfect, we could
perfectly hear Robert's guitar, and the stage
was very tall so we could see everything very well...
We knew that the concert had to stop at 12,00,
and we were ready for a short playlist, but it has been very
intense. There were really a lot of hardcore
fans, those 30-years-old still dressing in black dancing and singing so
happy for the chance of this concert. Those
men of the security were watching at us smiling while we welcomed
every song with a huge roar, i think it was
a nice show!
At the end of "a forest" Robert asked for one
more song, but the organisation said no, maybe a question of
time. But the crowd started to shout, saying
OUT! OUT! and offending introducers, with 16,000 little fingers
shaking in the air. I think we were incredibly
angry and maybe somebody feared us!!
We saw Simon coming back and than the rest.
They started playing Boys don't cry and the crowd started to dance
wildly... it was really a joy! A show too
short but we were so satisfied !
last two things...
this afternoon we tried to get the pass by
calling MTV, we did not get them (of course, as we are two simple
nothing-breathing-on-planet-earth), but we
were surprised to listen to The end of the World as we waited to be
connected to the right person...

The band got on stage at 23.05 circa; they played for 32-33 minutes. Setlist was:
Before three, Fascination Street, alt.end, The end of the world, Just like heaven, Play for today, A forest
After a forest Robert said "i think we have
to finish here" but then he added "wait a minute" and got off stage,
so everyone hoped for him to return for an
encore; but then the tv hosts came on stage and said it was all over
and the broadcast stopped : (
in the short interview before the show, Robert
didn't say much: he talked about the Naples show, where they
could play as much as they wanted, and so
they kind of rehearsed the more new songs as possible. he said
they're gonna cut down some songs to settle
on a shorter set for the next festivals, though. Then he was asked
about the reaction among the audience to the
new songs: he said there certainly was a part of the audience who
wanted to get into the new stuff, but that
there was another part who wanted the old hits and that they had to mix
the two components. he said that right at
the time he was making the interview, they had not decided yet the
setlist: they were pretty much agreeing on
the new songs, but had still to talk for the old ones to be played.
That's pretty much all for what concerns the
interview.
The audience was good, afterall: i feared much worse. There was indeed a great participation.
the "supporting acts" were bugo, phoenix, ash and articolo 31."
