About the Opinions Database
The Opinion Unit provides written opinions for designated state and local public officers on legal issues arising in the course of their duties. These opinions are accorded "great respect" by the courts. The Opinions database includes published opinions from 1986 to the most currently published opinions.
The search software is called ISYS. It is a full-text search program that finds documents which contain words and/or phrases that you provide. ISYS will display the titles of your "hits" on a screen and allow you to view them in full-text, copy them to disk, or print them.
FIREWALL
If you have trouble receiving the search results and your agency is behind a firewall, please have your network administrator allow traffic sent by port 81. If you need further assistance, please contact the webmaster@doj.ca.gov
