Usage of ZX4Zaurus.
ZX4Zaurus is a ZX-Spectrum emulator that is implemented in Java and is optimized for Sharp's PDA Zaurus.
It's a technology study to demonstrate the power of the Zaurus hardware and
Linux with there Personal Java implemention Jeode.
If you don't known the ZX-Spectrum, it was in the 80th years beside the Commodore
C64 the importantest homecomputer which was build by the english company Sinclair. The size of it
was like a book with a rubber keyboard. The accessories was
an extern power supply and cables to connect a tv and a cassette recorder to
save programs and data.
Here a lots of terms:
processor: Zilog Z80 with 3,5 MHz memory: 16 KB ROM, 48 KB RAM view: 32 rows, 24 columns graphic: 256 x 192 pixel colors: 16 foreground, 8 background
ZX4Zaurus emulates the hardware of a ZX-Spectrum, because sound is not supported,
and allows the usage of the ZX-BASIC, what is contained in the Spectrum ROM, for your own little applications
on the Zaurus. Also this is a platform for lots of games.
The input of BASIC-programs you can do with the keyboard of Zaurus or the softkeyboard of Qtopia.
When you run the program it shows the start screen of the ZX-Spectrum which you can pass by pressing a key.
Then you will show the command line of the ZX-BASIC. Here you can type in BASIC-programs easely,
because the Spectrum will check the syntax after you have pressed ENTER.
If any error you will show a question mark on the concerning place.
Over the context menu, which you can show by tapping and holding the stylus on the Spectrum's
screen, you can reach all functions to control the ZX4Zaurus.
