Noptec Interceptor
The Interceptor files are now in place.
To activate the network trap layer and monitoring plugin,
you must shutdown Qtopia. After closing the "Add/Remove Software"
application, go to the "Shutdown" settings application and select
"Terminate Qtopia". Simply restarting
Qtopia is not enough, and rebooting the whole PDA is not needed.
After restarting (Qtopia will automatically restart when shutdown
is complete), the monitoring taskbar applet should appear with
a blue base, indicating that the trap layer is active.
Important information:
If Qtopia fails to load and you are left at the shell prompt, follow these instructions:
- Press "/" to break the repeating loop
- Press "a" to activate the shell
- Type "uninstall_interceptor" and press return
- Type "Y" and press return to start the uninstaller
- Type "exit" and press return to try to restart Qtopia
All network hooks and Qtopia plugins which may have caused
Qtopia to fail should now be removed. To fully uninstall the
Interceptor, use the "Add/remove programs" settings application.
