NEW YORK, NY. February 20, 2002 -- iAnywhere Solutions, Inc., a subsidiary of Sybase, Inc. (NYSE: SY) and Sharp Electronics Corp. today announced initiatives to fuel development of Java-based mobile enterprise applications. The companies are unveiling special promotions, pricing and technical information to help their developer communities leverage the iAnywhere Solutions™ m-Business platform with the new Zaurus SL-5500 Personal Mobile Tool to create robust, portable, mobile business applications. The companies will showcase their joint solutions at the iAnywhere Solutions booth at this week's Internet World Wireless conference in New York City.

SAN JOSE, Calif., December 3, 2001 - Sharp Electronics Corporation announced today that they are working with Enfora, Inc., a leader in providing wireless data solutions, to provide a Compact Flash™ CDPD modem for Sharp's Zaurus SL-5500 Personal Mobile Tool. The SL-5000D includes Opera's browser from Opera Software, that has features to meet emerging needs for web-based business solutions as well as features fast web based browsing for handheld devices.

Jeode ™ PDA Edition in the SL-5000D incorporates the Jeode EVM™ runtime engine, a "Sun Authorized Virtual Machine" compatible with the PersonalJava™ 1.2 specification. It delivers accelerated performance and efficient memory utilization through Insignia's patent-pending dynamic adaptive compilation (DAC™) and precise concurrent garbage collection technologies.
