QTReader is an e-text reader which reads Pamldoc, text, gzipped text and its own very highly compressed format. The compressor is available as source code from www.timwentford.uklinux.net Most of the stuff you can do with QTReader is on the menus and should largely be self-explanatory. The cursor control keys do most stuff which you would want to do on a regular basis. There are two modes: Normal : up - page-up, down - page-down, left - zoom-out, right - zoom-in Autoscroll : up - scroll faster, down - scroll slower, left and right as before. Toggling between the two modes is done with the button in the middle of the cursor ring, or by typing space, or by using the menu option or icon on the task bar. A quick word about bookmarks. Bookmarks for a particular document are stored in a file which has the same name as the document. This is the name assigned by the document model - not the file name. These files are removed using Tidy from the bookmarks menu. Individual bookmarks are removed using Delete. Bookmarks can be generated one at a time using the mark function, or many at a time by searching for a regular expression using Autogen. There is also a special mark which is saved in the config file when you do Save prefs. This bookmark allows you to jump to the position which was current when you did save prefs whenever you reopen that document. The rest should be obvious but e-mail me at timwentford@hotmail.com if you have any comments or questions. Cheers Tim
