By sheer luck my b/f and I got into Guitar Center w/ nametags.. ( don't ask ).. Well, We waited around for a long
time.. just hanging out.. The Cure didn't show up till about 8:15 or so.. But we were right in front of the crowd
where the photographers were.. and when The Cure came out, it was an uproar..They were going wild with picture
taking...The Cure finally separated and I ran over to Robert..Tapped his shoulder and asked him "Hey Robert,
will you take a picture with us?".. He said, "Yeah, sure..".. (He's so shy and humble!)  We got a great pic with
him.. Totally forgot to ask him to sign our vinyls we brought.. but we continued to find the other bandmates and
got our vinyls signed by them.. My b/f had a brief chat with Simon about music gear.. Then we were rushed out
of Guitar Center because The Cure was about to be inducted.. We went outside and stood right behind the
podium where they were announcing special guests and such.  After The Cure was inducted, we hurried back
inside where we started waiting for Robert to come out so we can get our vinyl signed.. but he exited through the
back.. oh well, I had an awesome time!!

Well, after nearly passing out upon finding out that THE CURE would be putting their  hand prints in the
Hollywood Rockwalk of fame, I knew I had to get there one way or another for this momentous event in THE
CURE's history.  So I pulled some mad stunts to get from the central coast to Hollywood and I got at the Guitar
Center just in time to wait 3 hours!  But waiting for THE CURE is really no problem at all.  Fortunately, one very
nice girl who I later went out to dinner with was kind enough to let me get up in front to take some good pictures
for my Cure book I am doing. (thank you sweetie, where ever you are!) We chatted in suspense for hours and then
when the time finally came, THE CURE still didn't come out until 45 minutes later!  The crowd had turned into
vicious animals, ready to tear anything apart with lusty desires to see that lovely fluffy headed man and his posse.
Good Charlotte was booed when mentioned along with some other people introduced before THE CURE.  It was
funny, but a little sad too.  American Hollywood Cure fans showed no mercy when it came to them and there
favourite band.  Finally, Rob and the boys came out and we all cheered uncontrollably,  The barriers where
pushed over where I was because people were being so crazy at the site of THE CURE.  All the pushing made it
so hard to take good pictures.  Robert was all in black and looking sharp. The rest of the band looked great to.
Robert came out and gave the crowd a good look.  We made eye contact and he nodded in recognition and I
blushed.  He probably thought it was scary that the crazy catgirl followed him all the way to California, haha!
But my heart was touched once again by his presence.  He said a few clumsily lines, embarrassed, it was very
cute.  He ended with saying that he would probably think of something better to say later. Then they dipped there
paws in the cement and once again an uncontrollable cheer went up.  I actually filmed them putting there hands in
the cement and would like to put it on the internet somehow to share with everyone.  They soon left after they put
there hands in the cement.  The whole event only took about 15 minutes.  A long and gruelling wait, but it was a
precious moment in history indeed.  And to be that close to Robert and the boys, always a pleasure.  I then later
had dinner with a few other Cure fans I had met then headed to Palm Springs with a friend to get ready for
Coachella.  I was very tired indeed, but pleased I had made it to Hollywood to support my inspiration for life, THE
CURE.

I flew from NY to LA on Friday for a week's vacation that would include the Coachella fest.  I wouldn't arrive in
time to get in line for the Tonight Show, but the Rock Walk seemed like an awesome consolation.  I was with my
girlfriend and her father (whose house we are staying at this week).  Her father didn't even know who the Cure
was, so it was very nice of him to drive us down to the Guitar Center and wait around with us.  It also made the
whole event doubly frustrating for me.  Sometimes I think Cure fans need to do all Cure things by themselves or
with fans of similiar fervor.  There's nothing worse than waiting an hour for the Cure to emerge from the Guitar
Center feeling awful the whole time that the people you with are bored out of their mind.  No explanation was
given as to why the event was delayed an hour.  The crowd wasn't all that big, but due to the horrible set up, no
one could see anything save the people at the very front.  We watched from across the street.  People were trying
to move to restricted areas to get a better view, and the cops were being particularly tough.  A girl who looked
exactly like Kelly Osbourne got into a shouting match with a cop.  It occured to me that it might have actually
been the real Kelly Osbourne.  I have no idea how people got VIP passes for the event.  I'm sure those with
passes had a fabulous time meeting the band (and delaying their arrival to the outside!) but everyone on the
street was treated to one sentence from Robert and horrible views.  Oh well.  It was worth it to me just to see
the band one more time... but very embarassing to have inconveinced my girlfriend's dad for over an hour all
over such an unimpressive event.

Tonight Show:

We arrived at 2pm on Thursday afternoon. We were first in line and were quite alone up until 7pm. After 7pm
there was a pretty steady flow of people arriving. I met many cool and very nice people like our neighbors for
the night Melinda and Co. We played Taboo and Uno and listened to music through the night. Did anyone go? I
was the guy with the mohawk; I'm also the one who started the rebellion against that asshole 'Jean-Jacket' that
was on the radio in the morning. (Star 98.7 wanted to talk to me or get me to sing on the air but I had no clue I
was on the air or that I was going to be on the radio. Some guy just walked up to me with a cell and started
singing Friday I'm In Love. I was on the phone trying to straighten things out about 'Jean Jacket'  The bastard
and some of his friends and other random people tried cutting in front of everyone who had camped out. I went
and told them nicely that the line was over there and that people had camped out. He had just got there around
5am. This incident was at around 6 or 6'30. He said that there wasn't a sign that said that's what the line was
for. Complete bullshit, he even asked if I was the front of the line. And not only that but I'm so sure that like 75
people asleep on the sidewalk wearing all black for the most part just happened to be homeless spooky kids. So I
got all crazy on his ass. He and his friends didn't budge so we gathered the line up and we were gonna go nuts
on them. But security came just in time and said they had to go to the back of the line. The next few hours we
spent waiting in anticipation and trying to get KROQ to play the new song on the air. They never did. Finally the
time came. We were let into the studio and the show started. The crowd was good, a lot of Cure fans for the
most part. I personally LOVED the new song. I thought it was fantastic and Robert seemed to be having fun up
there, and his smile at the end of the song was as always great to see. I asked the camera man for the card
that had the guests on it and he handed it to me as soon as the show was over.

Walk of Fame:
I got VIP passes from someone I met online. (a million thank you's to Karen!!!).  I got to meet Robert and was
totally standing behind him as they were doing the handprints out front. They arrived at the back of the store
and , I met Simon first, then Perry. I proceeded to ask Robert to sign my The Walk mini-LP original pressing and
he did. I got a pic with him and as I walked away from him it hit me. I had just met Robert Smith, something I've
been trying to do for the past 15 years. Well of course that led to me laughing in disbelief and then I lost it. I
started bawling straight up like a Michael Jackson fan. I cried for about 5 mins and I composed myself. I got my
VIP pass signed by all of them minus Robert, & I got pics with all of them. I also got Robert to sign right under
my Cure tattoo, he did and said "I better not mess up on this one." and giggled. He pretty much knew my plan.
Right after we left I went to the closest tattoo shop and I know have Robert Smiths autograph tattooed on my
arm!!!! Good TIMES! I have 2 rolls worth of film from the Leno taping and the Walk of Fame, I will send them in
as soon as I get them developed. I'll also have a short video of Robert walking into the first room you come to
when coming in thru the back. He looks and spots a guitar he likes and he proceeds to buy 4 of them! (I was
talking with the sales rep. who works that section of the store. It's his video that I'll be posting as soon as
he sends it to me.) Ok I must go sleep, I've got 4 hours last night in line for leno. I'll be leaving for Coachella in a
few hours.

Friday night was such a wounderful night for me. One i will never forget. Ok first off we arrived in Hollywood
around 6 pm and right after we passed up Ameoba records we spotted a u-hual truck unloading equipment that had
The Cure painted on it. First thing we thought was that The Cure was going to be doing a secert show later on in
the evening. So instead of driving up towards Guitar Center we parked behind the building. We saw a sticker that
said Coachella and then knew it was thier stuff. we decided to take the bus up towards Guitar Center and got a
good spot. I was the guy with The Cure tatoo on his left arm from Bloodflowers. The ceremony didn't start till
about 9 pm so we were all very antsy. After the ceremony we dicided to take the walk back and once we got back
to our suprise we were right The Cure were there rehersing for sundays show...all except Robert. : ( He was not
there but nevertheless we camped out there with 3 other cure fans from Victorville (we drove out there from
Riverside and San Bernardino). It was such a great experience we also got a few quick peeks into the session.
We also heard them playing "End Of The World" which sounded so nice I LOVE YOU GUYS!!! Once they
finished we walked back towards my car and saw them live in their van and I believe it was Roger that waved
back to me as they left the parking lot.

My turn to tell my tail. I was #10 to get in the show and we sat in the second section on the floor from the stage
and third row back first aisle seat. I thought I would have a pretty good view, until the shooting actually started.
There was a camera man that stood right in the aile next to me. I thought this really sucks, I'm not going to see the
band if he is shooting from here when the band goes on. But to my surprise he asked me during the commerical if I
wanted the camera up or down? I asked if it was up would they be able to see behind it? He said it wouldn't be that
great of a view for them.. And if it was down I would not see anything.. So I said can I stand up? He said to me
"You do what you have to do" So the camera was down, and I was up and shooting at the top of my lugs :)
Although there was another camera that completly blocked the view of one of my friend. But what did I care there
was "ROBERT" standing in my view, and at that point that's all that mattered. I thought the song was great, and
his voice sounded wonderful, he looked great and the whole experience was just Fabulous!! I got to meet some
wonderful people, and I hope to run in to all again during the upcoming tour, well I hope I don't run into "Jean
Jacket" ha-ha :)

Well after the show we got in to the car and called our friend who was waiting for us at the guitar center, he
quickly informed us we had some passes wiating for us. So I thought how great this is going to be, I'm finally
going to make one of hopes come true, I was going to meet Robert Smith. I have been wanting to meet him since
I was like nine years old and now two weeks shy of the big 30, it's going to happen.. So the band gets there and I
go out the back door into the parking lot, and the first one I come across is Perry he stops in front of me and I
hand him a pen and it was silver and he said to me "Silver"? I said it was a special pen and he glanced at the
skateboard deck under my arm and he just smiled and said "that's cool" with a little smile. Next was Jason, he
just took the pen and signed, not much love lost there, and then there was Simon, he didn't sign anything he just
stopped and looked at the board and said "OH!" and smiled and got pulled away before I could get his autograph.
Then there he was standing before me, "ROBERT". I smiled at him lifted up the board and my shaking silver
pen and just said "Robert Please" he smiled at me looked at the board and said "HUH" gave me that great
giggle laugh he has and handed the board back to me, "there you are" he said, and a great big thank you from
my end. I got to walk back into the building with him and I looked at the security guy at the door and he said to
me "You look very happy" I said you have no Idea, wiped the tear from my eye and went back upstairs and just
sat staring at my days acompishment :)

Then found Simon again and I got his autograph which he messed it up, and grabed my wrist and said " Sorry
sweetie I'll do it again" I thought Simon just grabed my wrist and called me sweetie, not a bad day at all :) After
that we all got pushed outside, and there was some talk of us not being able to get back in, so after the band came
outside I asked the guy at the door if I could use the bathroom. When I got out of the bathroom I noticed Robert
coming back in and in my directon so the camera came out and I got a couple of pictuers of him. and back to the
interview and photoshoot the band went. When they came out we got pictuers with Perry, Jason, and Simon. Roger
was done for the night. Wiated for Robert and after 15 minautes I told my friend he wasn't coming out this way,
and sure enough "Robert had left the building" :P So no picture with Robert, but my board got signed and I wiil
know on monday when I get my film back if any of my pics come out..

Hello all. Yesterday was an experience for the books! I attended the tonight show taping and was quite pleased
at the song "end of the world" it was a beautiful song and well performed by the band. It is a little more poppy but
is fantastic. Although the band was not interviewed, Robert did manage to acknowledge his fans and waved
goodbye before he walked off the set and the curtain closed.

As if the experience of being the first to hear their new song was not enough, off we went to the guitar center for
the induction of the band into the rock walk of fame. I was lucky enough to have a VIP pass but was not prepared
to the fact at how intimate the setting would be. First we waited for the band out back, were the stor had a table
set up with memorabilia and posters for the band to sign. I met Perry first and took a picture with him. Then I met
Robert who is as timid as usual so I tried not to bug him too much. I got a few pictures with him and he signed my
vip pass I actually got all their signatures eventually. I told him that I thought the song was great and he smiled
with giddy happiness that I liked it. He shook my Hand and said thank you.

Inside he was checking out the guitars and then he saw it! He turned and walked towards the wall and just
stopped and stared at them and was bouncing with joy! He saw the $5000 vintage guitar and bought four of them!!
Their were lots of people asking for autographs and what not from the band as they tried to tour the store. So for
fans on the outside that is what was taking so long. Then their was the fire marshall problem and that is when we
were all told to step out to the front.

After the band was taken to the pro audio room for an interview. Later Perry, Jason, and Roger came out. Roger
signed my Jay leno ticket as well and asked me if I liked the song! I told him I thought it was fantastic and he
smiled happily and said great and then asked if we were going to buy the CD. Of course was my response. We
also got a pic with the guitarist from NIN can't (rmember his name). All in all it was a night to remember!!! I have
yet to develop 2 rolls of film with the band!!! Going to do that now!!

I went with my friend Eva to the tonight show taping. We arrived near midnight and there were about 15-20
people already waiting. We met some other cure fans that had also heard that the best thing to do is split up and
one person wait at the ticket line and the other wait at the entrance line. I went with one of the fans, Amy, and
we walked around and noticed nobody was at the entrance line, so we set up there. Afterwards, people starting
catching on, and were doing the same thing. We attempted to sleep, but it was nearly impossible. I got maybe one
hour of sleep in total. Everyone in the entrance line started getting antsy right before 8:00 a.m. when the tickets
were to be handed out. There was also some drama going on in the ticket line about some alleged "Ellen" fans
who cut off the line, but it quickly got resolved by some tired and soon to by angry cure fans.

After the tickets were handed out, our friends came and joined us and we were able to take breaks to eat and go
to our cars. Once they numbered us, I ended up being number 4. When we finally walked got in, we were seated
at the left bleacher in the third row with an awesome view of the band. We had to sit through Jay's jokes, Ellen,
and theDrew Barrymore stalker before The Cure performed. The crowd started getting crazy during the
commerical break right before The Cure because we all knew they were next. When Jay announced The Cure,
we went wild. Some of us stood up, and it was great because I had an awesome view of Robert. The song was
beautiful and is sure to be a Cure hit. I can't wait for the new album.

After the song, Jay did some promos with the band, Ellen, and the stalker guy. Robert was so cute during the
promos because he got all awkward and nervous like. I noticed he got itchy and started scratchy his arms. He
also stuck out his tongue in his infamous way. It was so great to be there right up close in the third row. It was
definatley worth the wait the sleep depravation. After the promos, the cure left and we were forced to listen to
some of Jay's joke to test out. I think that was done so they could get the band out of NBC studios before the
audience was let out. It was horrible to have to listen to some of those jokes right after seeing The Cure. I
thought about going to Guitar Center right after, but I knew there would be more people there and I was beat.

My girlfriend has an 'in' with NBC, so we cashed in and got reserved seats to this afternoon's Tonight Show. I
wouldn't have missed it for the world, as I have not seen Robert and company since the Roseland Ballroom show
in N.Y. in 2000. They played the new single--it was fantastic. I always try to associate a contemporary cure song
with a classic cure era, and attach labels like 'disintegrationesque' or 'pornographic'[. The new song is neither.
Ross Robinson's influence was evident. 'The End of the World' is the song that BF's 'Maybe Someday' should
have been; it is just as fuzzy guitar catchy, yet not a syrupy spoonful of radio play that you might find on any
forgettable-in-a-week Filter album. It has depth-both lyrically and musically-that I have not heard from the cure
since Wish. The crowd was Cure crazy, as is always the case when they come to burbank, so I wasn't able to hone
in on the song with a perfect ear, but when a Cure song is killer-you just know. And this song is killer. A good time
was had by all, to be sure. Can't wait for the new album.

Hi, this is Jesus, guitarist for the Curse. We were able to meet the Cure at the Rockwalk hall of Fame in
Hollywood. They were really nice, Perry was real friendly, I kept bugging him that they should play "Burn" as an
opener for a second encore at the upcoming Cure shows. He said that it would be a great idea, but he feels that
the band won't do it, since at the time they recorded that song everyone was leaving the band. He was nice enough
to get our passes signed by Robert. Everyone was rushing Robert and asking him a thousand questions. We met
Jason and he looked quite tired, Simon was next to him and I asked him if they would ever play "Burn". He said
that it wouldnt be bad , and then he asked me if that was a b-side.

We caught up to Roger and talked about "Wish". We mentioned that we love the little solo he does during Trust
while they are playing it live. I said that particular line should of been on the record, then Roger said that he
should of been on that entire album. I asked him about playing "Burn", and he smiled and said that he had no
idea what i was talking about. He said that he didn't even know the song. Perry said that the band really wants to
play the songs that they helped shape.

So... it's going to be really interesting on how their sets are going to be this summer. Then the band had to go for
the ceremony. Robert said something among the lines that he really didn't know what to say. After the Ceremony
they moved the band inside the guitar center. I was not able to talk to Robert, and the band later left. They had
Robert in a secret section of the guitar center. We were waiting for him to come out, but they sneaked him out.
The Cure were really humble and nice. An Amazing night and a well deserved achievement for the band.

I did attend the Introduction tonite, and I must say that there were a lot of fans in such a small space. The set up
of the place was AWFUL, but i knew that being an Angeleno. I didn't see anything. However, I went to the back of
the Guitar Center, and waited for the guys to come out. Roger was first out, and Just waved. Perry and Simon
followed, and they took the time to shake hands with some of us. Then we waited for Robert but were excorted off
the Parking lot by security. Luckly I was given a VIP pass to get in doors. Too make a long stroy short, Robert
snuck out the back door and into the limo...... It was good nite for me, I met most of the guys... I noticed that a lot
of the fans managed to get VIP passes.. some early departures gave us ours.

So this is my take on what happened today:

I. Jay Leno show

I was VERY fortunate that my roommate's good friend is an intern at the NBC studio, so I was able to skip all the
line-waiting to get tickets and to get in (but trust me, I've done my share of it before for other tapings!). We were
on the guest list, so we sat on the very front row below the bleachers, smack dab in the middle. I'm the girl in the
pink jacket who was going buckwild and attempted to get a picture with The Cure but only ended up with a picture
and a chat with Jay Leno (not too shabby).

I loved how almost everyone at the taping was a Cure fan and came to the show JUST for them. Everytime Jay
mentioned The Cure, everyone went crazy. Ellen DeGeneres was funny and amusing, the other guy was a bit
obsessed with Drew Berrymore but hey I can't blame him, being obsessed with Bob myself! Finally the Cure
came on and launched into "The End of the World" right away. I knew that I would probably never be able to see
them perform in such a small place at such a close distance, so I was enjoying myself immensely.

I also loved the fact that the fans and myself were going nuts during the song but tried to refrain ourselves
through most of it so that we can get a decent listen. We all knew that it was history in the making. The song is
going to be great on the radio waves. Very catchy and upbeat, supported by a really strong, rhymthmic bass line
by Simon and Robert's characteristic boyish, wistful vocalizations.

Unfortunately, Jay Leno didn't interview Robert, but they did tape a teaser commercial for the show and did
about three or four takes. I don't know which one they'll end up using but it won't really matter since the fan
reaction to each take was equally strong. Very awesome to see Cureheads coming out in strong force. During
the teasers, Robert kind of stood off to the side, looking very vulnerable, shy and awkward. The entire band was
clad in its usual black and Robert looked very fetching with his usual makeup and hair.

During one of the breaks, I asked the cue card guy if it were possible to get one of the cards, taking the advice I
read on this website. Much to my surprise, right after the show, he handed me one of the cue cards that says
"Please welcome, THE CURE." Not exactly what I asked for, but hey I'm not complaining!

II. Rockwalk

So my roommates and I left Burbank, had dinner in Hollywood and then headed over to the Guitar Center a little
after 7pm. At that point, it was pretty crowded, but not because there were a lot of people. Since the ceremony
was in the front of the store and the press had its own special section directly in front of it, the only place
designated for fans was on the sides. Which meant that although I was only about 8 rows of people away from the
front, I couldn't see a thing.

I don't know why, but it took almost an hour for the ceremony to begin and it only lasted for about 5-10 minutes.
The Guitar Center offered no explanation for the long delay nor pump up the audience by assuring us when the
Cure would arrive. A city official, a representative from Geffen Records and a Guitar Center guy had some
words to say, but were mostly booed by us Cure fans getting restless from waiting and standing for so long. What
was really amusing was when the members of Good Charlotte were introduced and booed as well. What the heck
were they doing there and not any true Cure fans???

When the boys appeared, the crowd started getting really out of control as everyone began to push themselves
forward, raise small children and small women onto their shoulders, and raised their arms with their camera
phones, cameras, and camcorders, thus making it even more difficult to see anything at all. The only view that I
ever got was through the camcorder of a guy next to me. And then, before it had barely begun, it was over.

All I remember is Robert saying a few words and me thinking that it's worth it to at least hear his speaking voice
live at such a close distance (albeit I couldn't actually see him), especially since there was no interview at the
Tonight Show. The boys each pressed their hands onto the cement and then they were gone. I managed to get
past the fans and take a picture of the handprints, still fresh.

So all in all, I think that I pressed my luck by trying to see Rob and the boys at such close vicinity twice in one
day. Although the Tonight Show's appearance was a hundred times better in comparison to Rockwalk, I don't
regret going; if I hadn't, I would have regretted it! I'm only 21 and a Cure fan for a few years, so I definitely want
to take every opportunity of seeing/meeting The Cure. Definitely have experiences that I'll remember when I'm
older!
