Review by Dvora Zierer

I know many others have already written about this show, but my husband and I just flew back to Connecticut last
night and I just had to write down my personal experience.  Although we live out here now, we decided to fly to Cal.
for this tour because we knew the shows and audience would be the best there.  I became a fan 11 years ago
through listening to KROQ, and we wanted to see our last Cure shows at home.

A week before we were scheduled to fly out, our family suffered a terrible tragedy and we flew out early to be with
them.  It seemed strange at first to still attend the concerts, but as they have done so many times before in my life,
the Cure touched me so deeply- the shows were really cathartic- a chance to express emotion and feel things I
couldn't have otherwise.

Our first show was Irvine Meadows- our seats were first row center orchestra, and it was especially wonderful to
be able to watch the interaction between the band and to see Robert's face.  He truly pours his heart and soul into
every performance, as do all the band.  I started crying during 'Trust' and I don't think I stopped till the end of the
the show.  The crowd was amazing, and I think the band were overwhelmed by the reaction they received-
sometimes Roger would just look out over the crowd, smile and shake his head, or turn and smile at Simon.
 Absolutely amazing show.

The first L.A. show on the 30th was even better, although the set list was almost the same as it was for Irvine.  I
could not believe the person who grabbed Robert and his guitar at the start of 'Forest'- any other band would have
stopped the show at that point and I wouldn't have blamed them a bit.  Robert just kept smiling, picked up another
guitar (obviously not the one he normally plays for 'Forest') and finished the song.  The crowd was absolutely
manic- everyone sang along to the keyboards on 'Play for Today' and it really felt like we were all a part of
something we'd never feel again.

We had a feeling that the second L.A. show would be special- I think it's always been a special place for the band
and I hoped we'd get some surprises, but I never expected so many!  I tried to savor every moment, knowing this
was my 9th and probably last ever Cure show.  Every song brought such a mix of joy and sadness- I couldn't help
thinking with each one 'That's the last time I'll hear Fascination Street... Inbetween Days... Green Sea... live'.  I
felt like Robert knew this would be a crowd of die-hard fans, and every song seemed like a gift- I couldn't believe
all the songs from 'Pornography' (including my fave 'A Strange Day') and Kiss Me... The crowd seemed truly
appreciative, except for the little pocket right around us- we were in the 8th row center orchestra section, and I
really wondered why some of the people were there- they actually sat down for every song they didn't recognize
(basically everything but Inbetween Days and Just Like Heaven), and spent most of the show talking and going on
beer runs.  I couldn't believe it- I'd look at Robert up there pouring his heart out and people were completely
ignoring him.  The good thing was that the tall people in front of us were sitting through most of the show, so we
had a fantastic view of the entire band!

When it came time for the encores, I held my breath- how could they possibly top what they'd already done?
When Robert introduced 'All Cats Are Grey', I just screamed- this was the song I had requested in the Cure web
site competition and most wanted to hear, and the only song they played from 'Faith' in the other 2 shows was
'Faith'.  It was absolutely, breathtakingly beautiful- Roger got the last note right this time (someone said he got it
wrong at an earlier show and Robert went over and hit the right note!), but he was looking over at Robert and
cracking up at the end of the song.  They had played 'Lovesong' the night before so I didn't expect it the second
night- it sounds so much better live with Roger on keyboards (no offense, Perry!).  I cried all the way through it, as
this was the song that got me into the Cure, and I can still remember exactly where I was when I first heard it back
in '89.   When they started 'Just Like Heaven' it really hit me- my last time to hear it live!  I was crying so hard at
the first strains of guitar I'm sure the people around me thought I was nuts- then I thought, it's my last chance to
sing it too so I sang through my tears- and what an incredible experience to hear 6,000 people all singing along at
the top of their lungs.  The last 3 songs- Boys Don't Cry, 10:15, Killing an Arab- were all I'd hoped for and more...
Robert seemed like he didn't want to leave the stage.  I was hoping for 1 more encore, maybe 'Wrong Number' (we
actually wore lime green and tangerine outfits the night before), but no, they were gone- I watched Robert till I
couldn't see him any more and sat in disbelief that this was really it, our last Cure show ever. We thought about
getting tix to an East Coast show, but I just can't imagine anything surpassing that night in L.A.  I know that
my last show was better than anything I'd dreamed.  Thank you Robert, Simon, Roger, Perry and Jason for giving
us so much of yourselves through all the years and especially on this tour- your music has touched us all in ways
you'll never know.

Comments by Jenny

I just wanted to make a little comment on the second la show on the 31st. Set list wise it was the best show I saw
of the 4 cali shows I went to.  The highlights for me were cold, pornography, like cockatoos, all cats are grey,
strange day, bloodflowers,  where the birds always sing, siamese twins, the  kiss, killing an arab and of course the
snakepit and shake dog shake.  The  emotion of this show was great. It was so intense. I was in the 9th row,
which was a dream come true.  And Trent Reznor was sitting right behind me in  the 10th row.  I didnt talk to him
because I didnt want to bother him. I figured he'd be bothered after the show.  I did smile at him and he smiled
back and seemed to be a nice guy.  The girls sitting next to me got his autograph.  I was amazed that he stayed for
the whole show including the encores.  I thought he might go backstage before the show was over, but he didnt.  He
seemed to enjoy it a lot.  I think there was another guy from NIN there with Trent I think his name is Jerome
Dillan, but I'm not sure.
Anyways, this show overall was the best I have seen.  It was filled with great intense emotion and beautiful amazing
songs.  I never thought I would hear siamese twins, all cats, snakepit and pornography live at the same concert.
The sound overall was really good.  At first it was a little hard to hear Perry's solos because I think they had
Simon's bass turned up pretty high, but after a while it all mixed in with itself and it sounded great.  I was glad to
see Robert was doing ok after the night before when some crazy guy jumped up on stage and pulled on him and
when some security guards tried to stop him, them and the guy and Robert all fell down and Robert fell on his
guitar which I'm sure was pretty painful. His Gretsch is a heavy guitar.  I'm glad that he wasnt hurt.  So this night
it was good to see him back up to par again.  A little tired from the heat, but in full force.  This was a wonderful
show setlist wise as well as emotion and intensity wise. The crowd could've been a little better.  The night before
they were more excited, but it was still good this night.  This is truly a dream tour and something I'll never forget
and I cant wait till next time.  =)

What can I say about this show I have seen the cure live about 20 times since 1985. This show was the best I have
ever seen them. Because it will proably be the last time I will see them and the fact that me and my x-wife put aside
our differerences and went to the last show together (it felt like nothing had passed between us). I could not have
asked for a better set list to end my 15 year obssesion. In the three LA shows and the vagas show that I went to
they played almost every song that has meant the most to me. For me the highlight was siamese twins. This is a
song that has saved my life on serveral occasions.  I have never heard it live until the vegas show. I can't say much
about the crowds because I was in my own world the second they hit the stage. The only song that wasn't played
was A Perfect Girl, which we had played as our wedding march. I want to thank Robert and the boys for a great
show and for the great music which has inspired me throughout my life.  As the song says "I know we have to go
back to real life. Where we belong."

Review by The Wingless Tinkerbell

i realize you've gotten plenty of reviews of this show, but they're all from the perspective of fans who've seen them
before. this was my *first* (and, at least on this tour, my last) cure show. i haven't even really been a fan for more
than a year - i knew who they were, i could sing along to a couple singles, but only recently did i really come to
appreciate the sheer amazing quality of this band.

i've been to 34 concerts in my life and that was the best one ever... it was... A-MAZ-ING. i don't think i'll ever go to
a better show. i was in the north terrace (and didn't even realize that there was a screen in the back of the stage
with projected images on it until i read the reviews here three days later!)

when they did fascination street & pictures of you i thought i'd gotten my money's worth. but when i heard them do
the trio of jupiter crash, m, & play for today, then that wonderous ending of a forest (despite robert being tackled
by inept security) i almost died of happiness.

it was such a wonderful experience to be standing in that huge bowl, surrounded by trees, and hearing the words
"i'm lost in a forest... all alone" and look up and see the stars in the huge, wide sky... for a moment i was no longer
surrounded by people... i was all alone, in the forest, with the cure. and it was a beautiful moment, and i would like
to thank all the guys for making that moment possible - that's the sort of memory a person keeps with them
forever... thank you.

I was so excited for this show and took someone who does not own a single cure album just to make a point to him
(The Cure isn't just a band, they are a legend living in modern times).  He has always made fun of me about the
cure ever since I could remember (personally I think because he never gave them a chance) but after the show
different story, he was at a loss for words, especially after the encores.  I really didn't know what to expect the
second night but the buzz was it would be the last LA show ever.  I remember thinking how cool it would be if the
cure did all these obscure songs especially all the old ones they hardly ever play.  I wanted to travel through time
and see them during the Pornography era as I was always fascinated how everyone described those shows. We
walked into the venue just as The Cure started playing and found our seats (center/center).  I told my friend this
show would be around 3 hours long and that everyone (most people) would be standing throughout the entire
performance.  Now here are the song reviews:

OUT OF THIS WORLD- perfection musically and lyrically.  They couldn't open with anything better for this tour;
the lyrics are simply appropriate for the occasion.  Being this may be the last tour and listening to Robert sing,
"When we look back at it all as I know we will- you and me, wide eyed- I wonder will we really remember how it
feels to be this alive?"  I know I will always remember how alive I felt when they ended, everyone cheering and
giving them the best welcome.

WATCHING ME Fall- this song is already a cure classic for me very tight and strong and long- the way a cure
song should be Most of the audience was into it as well.  As I looked around the venue I saw a lot of familiar faces
from Irvine and 1st LA show which made the whole experience all the more better, it felt as though we are one big
happy family celebrating the biggest event of our lives.  As they finished this song I thought I had awakened from
a dream but the audience kept reminding me it's no dream because they yelled and cheered so loud it would awake
the dead.

WANT- it was even better than on the wish tour.  This was a strong song with an excellent intro on drums from
Jason.  I've been impressed with Jason's drumming ever since WMS.  He not Boris but, nonetheless, an excellent
drummer for The Cure Brought back lots of memories form the swing tour.

FASINATION STREET- crowd pleaser, played at a faster pace than the single, the way it should be!!!!!  Very
powerful!  I love the way Robert hits the side of his head during, "kick the last nail in"

OPEN- better than wish tour, nice to see Roger play guitar.  His hand strokes were delicate and gracefull yet
sounded strong and vibrant.  Roger is very talented and is the only band member who played on two of the three
trilogy albums yet has been in the Cure fewer years than Perry.  One of my favorite songs as well but he didn't sing
as strong as the album sounds (not that it makes it worse, just gave the song a different feel).

LAST DAY OF SUMMER- if you can believe it sounds better live!!!!  I'm glad I got the chance to hear all the
bloodflowers songs in two nights. I love how Robert layers the music makes it sound dreamy.

WHERE THE BIRDS ALWAYS SING- perfection.

MAYBE SOMEDAY- crowd pleaser!  My friend knew this song and was happy to hear it, as was the crowed, it
transferred energy to the crowed.

SHAKE DOG SHAKE- very playful on, "shake shake shake shake shake shake dog shake."  This is a must see
in concert.

SNAKEPIT- Robert said something like "this next song is one we don't play often."  Then he announced the title
and I was so happy to finally have heard it live.  Robert gets into character and moves his whole body in synch to
what the lyrics mean.  When he sings, "I'm out in a car and its full of stupid girls", he swings his arm up and points
to his head.  It's funny to see Robert after playing the flute and smile because it just shows how self-conscious and
shy he really is.  Wonderfully done!

FTEOTDGS- surprised to see 85% of peoples "throw your hands in the air!"  Nice to see the Majority of people
were hardcore cure fans.  This song is always fantastic.  Perry was brilliant!!!!!!!!!!!!

INBETWEEN DAYS- everyone went crazy and started dancing.  The crowds' reaction to this song foreshadowed
how the crowd would respond at the last encore set and I'm sure the boys felt it as well.

THE KISS- I was so happy to hear more songs from kiss me era!  I could only imagine what an opening this must
have been.  What a powerful song, Jason was never better and Robert was out of this world.  He sang with anger,
"get your fucking voice out of my head!!!!!!!!!!!"   Another dream come true.

SIAMESE TWINS- when did I travel through time??? Someone wake me up!!!!!!!!!!!!  I never really knew why old
fans raved about pornography tour so much until I heard this song live.  He sings it in the same voice and it sounds
much more moody and darker than the album cut.

100 YEARS- it was a very powerful performance with an impressive lighting sequence.  I can't get enough of this
song!!!!!!!!!!  Again the live performance is incredible and that is not evident on the album cut.

39- intense buildups and emotional outbursts Robert delivers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

BLOODFLOWERS- same wonderful performance as 39.  The crowd went nuts!!!!!!!!!

After the end of the main set I could not imagine what they would do next.  There are no words to describe what
was ahead of us.  The entire Encore set was AMAZING!!!!!!!!!

1st ENCORE:
COLD- Robert introduced it as something the band wanted to play for us.  This song was very dark and eerie yet
the crowed exploded with enthusiasm.  Special note on how well Roger played!!!!!  This song was astonishing
live!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I'm becoming the biggest Pornography fan at this point!  The entire set was swarming with
distressed sounds adding to the mood of the atmosphere.  It was simply a religious experience!!! Indescribable!

LIKE COCKATOOS- this was introduced as an obscurity.  They might have played all the kiss me songs in honor
of Lol.  He was there backstage looking at Roger play and was into the music.

A STRANGE DAY- Again can't stress enough how excited I was to hear songs from this era.  What a treat.  Perry
consistently surprises me and Robert is such and outstanding musician!

PORNOGRAPHY- I was waiting for this one and once Robert announced it, Wow, what excitement! Never having
seen or heard this song live; I knew I was in for a treat.  Jason was EXTRODINARY on drums today but
especially during this song.  As soon as they started playing it, the stage was light up by a red light near Jason's
drums.  The Blood red light protruded throughout the audience the introduction of the drums are faintly heard as slow soft beats are echoed closer to your senses then slowly building up where it's louder louder louder then harder
harder harder (No wonder it's called pornography) until the beat finally hypnotizes you while you gaze into the
blood red light bleeding all over the stage.  All the other interments are introduced one after the other and it's
complete with Robert's dark seductive voice and lyrics.  At this point I took myself out of my trance and looked
around the place and witnessed something surreal.  Some people, more likely hardcore fans, had their hands in the
air and slowly waved in such a manner as to worship the hypnotic music and band!!!!!!  The audience was in utter
disbelief, and so was I!  What a fantastic song in its live form, like a creature being reborn from the past.

2nd ENCORE:
All CATS ARE GREY- One of my personal favorites and what an exceptional performance.  Robert walked to both
ends of the stage looking at, touching, and signing stuff.  An emotional highlight for Robert, he sounded so sincere
and vulnerable singing in soft breathes.

FAITH- nice to see Robert sing his favorite song and it is such a beautiful way to end the 2nd set.

3rd ENCORE:
LOVESONG- this was the part the audience went insane for this last encore set.  Everyone sang along to this!

JUST LIKE HEAVEN- the crowed went Crazy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Robert didn't bother singing some parts
either because the audience was doing it for him or because he had a smile so wide he couldn't sing!

BOYS DON'T CRY- So happy to hear even the new cure fans love the old CLASSICS.  Everyone danced, cheered,
and sang to this one.  Throughout these songs the whole band were having the time of their life!!!!!!!!  They were
dancing and laughing as well!!!!!!!!!!  Roger likes having fun with Robert on stage, as it is apparent in his playful
gestures.

10:15 SATURDAY NIGHT- I lovvvvvvvvvvvvvvve this song and so did the crowed!!!!!!!!!  Again the audience was
so energetic and never stopped!!!!!!!!!!!

KILLING AN ARAB- extraordinary light show!!!!!!!!!  What a classic way to end!!!!  I have never seen Robert
sing so hard before and the band was explosive!!!!!!!!!  They tore up the stage and used all the energy they had
left.  The Audience transformed into electricity and never stopped, you have never seen anything like it (not even
in a Ricky Martin concert, lol)!!!!!!!!!! Everyone was on his or her feet and moving in all sorts of directions, I
screamed and yelled my heart out.  When they ended, the crowed was twice as static, if you could believe that!!!!!
And you can tell the band really appreciated it and then they left the stage but the audience was ready for another
encore set!!!!!!!!!!!  Just like that the lights went on and left the audience adoring The Cure and begging for
more!!!!!!!!!

I can't stress enough how enjoyable and amazing this concert was.  Hands downs, it is the best show I've ever been
to and this was my 10th show total.  This is probably the best concert on the tour so far!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  And now I
can honestly say Pornography is in the top three best cure albums for me personally.  After experiencing all those
songs live I've gained a greater appreciation for the band (if that's possible)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Just one mention, the
Pornography album (just my opinion) does not capture the same mood as when it is played live.  Now I know why
old fans, such as my cousin who got me into the cure, raved about the old days so much.  People have described the
82 tour as religious ceremonies and now it makes sense to me.  Thank You to The Cure for a wonderful show and
for years of enjoyment.  I encourage people to see as many shows as possible because they are legendary, nearly 3
hours shows!!!!!!!!!  Oh, thanks to the girl who sold me the ticket for San Diego (ya you, the girl in the pit at the
show with Joel who had the sign "happy Birthday Simon" Joel, hope you had a great time (he saw Vegas,
lucky)!!!!!!  Cure fans are the best!!!  Thanks to everyone at the show for supporting The boyz and to the many
familiar faces like the girls with the lights on their heads for both LA shows and San Diego one (Roger noticed you
girls!!!!!).  PS  Any fans want to keep in touch?  my email=  curmode@aol.com.

Review by Kurt Niedrich

Just wanted to write to let you know that I caught the shows at Irvine Meadows, The Greek, and San Diego State
this week, and I'd be amazed if any of the other set-lists played on the tour so far were as varied and extensive as
the Greek show on May 31st. I couldn't believe it! They played for a little over 3 hours and, in addition to all of the
Bloodflowers record and the usual singles, they threw in If Only Tonight We Could Sleep, Like Cockatoos, The
Snakepit, Pornography, Cold, The Figurehead, All Cats Are Grey, The Kiss, and Shake Dog Shake! They also
played Faith, Shiver & Shake, 10:15, and Killing An Arab on all 3 dates, so presumably these are standards for this
tour, although at the San Diego show Robert segued 10:15 Saturday Night into a version of "Happy Birthday
Simon"! It was their performance at The Greek, though, that stood head and shoulders above the other two dates.
They were as alive and electrifying as I've ever seen them, and you could tell they were really getting into the
audience response and feeding off how incredible they sounded! Amidst all the rumors of this being their final tour,
one can't help but wonder if they chose that night to leave an indelible imprint on the minds of everyone present
and played out this incredible set as a way of saying thankyou! I just thought your readers would appreciate
hearing what an unbelievable night it was. I'd love to hear what other "surprise additions" to the set list have been
played at other venues. Keep up the great work with the site. All the best.

This was my third Cure concert, and it was pure bliss! The London Astoria and Wembley shows were atrocious --
boring, no charisma, irritating European fans -- so I had lower than usual expectations for this show. I bought my
ticket about 3 hours before the show on an impulse, and what an impulse it was. The show was great. The band
were all in VERY GOOD moods, and that carried over into the song playing. No tension in playing like I had sen
before. Robert seemed especially involved with the crowd, and his playing was even better than I had seen,
showing through VERY strongly on The Kiss and Inbetween Days in particular. It could have done without Last
Day of Summer and Where the Birds always Sing, but I suppose they were the price for There Is No If, The
Loudest Sound, and Prayers for Rain being thankfully left out. When I gathered "...Cold..." from Robert's
indeciperable banter at the beginning of the first encore, I screamed my lungs out. Then Like Cockatoos! And
Pornography was so intense I was practically in a trance.  Then at the second encore, the opening drums of All Cats
Are Grey almost made me cry. For my entire life I had enjoyed these songs off of Faith and attahced such
emotional importance to them, and now I was experiencing it live! Oh, Lordy Lordy Lordy! And then the 3rd encore
was just perfect. Contrary to those bad-poetry reading, Marylin Manson look-alike naysayers, these beautiful
singles are a large part of what make The Cure such a unique, incomparable band. What a night! This dream never
ends!

Well its the day after what was most likely the last Cure concert I will ever get to see, and I'm definitely suffering
from post-Cure depression. For the last 2 years The Cure has been there to comfort me when I'm sad, rejoice with
me when I'm happy, and sometimes wallow in the depths of despair when I feel the need. Last night was one of the
most exhilirating nights of my life and I know that I will remember it always.  After attending the Irvine show on
Sunday (my first Cure concert ever and I had lawn seats), I was most looking forward to this show at the Greek
theatre with my brother and my friend Meaghan. I knew it would be special since it was their last show in LA, and
I was also super excited because this time I had 3rd row seats in the pit! We actually ended up being 2nd row from
the stage when everyone pushed up against the stage at the beginning of the show. This was absolutely unreal
because for the entire show I could see every expression and movement that Robert made, as well as the other
members of the band. Robert is like a cute teddybear that I wanted to hug the whole time and Roger is absolutley
hilarious and always had a Corona in hand =) The crowd at this show seemed much more enthusiastic than the
crowd at Irvine. About the songs, this setlist was absolutely incredible. Being of the younger generation of Cure
fans I am not exactly the biggest fan of the Pornography and Faith albums, but these songs sounded amazing live
and I was honored to hear them. Other highlights of the show were:

OOTW-  A great opener that got the crowd roaring
Fascination St- everyone up and dancing and cool slides of Hollywood in the background
Open- my bro and I shared a moment at "Falling into strangers and its only just eleven..."
The Last Day of Summer- possibly my favorite from Bloodflowers
Shake Dog Shake- a great song live! the woman next to me told me with a laugh that I was too young to know the
song and she wished she didnt know it so well =)
The Snakepit- This was awesome! Green lights and snakes on the screen, and Robert smiling as he played his little
flutey thing!
Bloodflowers- absolutely beautiful, the most emotional song for me of the night. I cried nearly the whole song.
Like Cockatoos- I couldnt believe they played this! Its my fave song from KMKMKM and its so wonderful live.
Killing an Arab- sounds 10 times better live! it was incredible! a girl jumped up on the stage and hugged Robert
before being "escorted" off the stage, I was actually considering doing the same at this point!
This concert was everything I could wish. It's sad to think that this was possibly the last time I'll ever see them live
but at least it's a memory I can thrive on forever.  "This dream always ends," I said...

I have never seen my husband so happy in his life over live music. He was like a child. Each masterpiece that came
up one after the other, the more excited he got. For someone so serious and doesn't get excited for very much,
especially in public, was very fun to watch. This was definitely a DREAM TOUR.  Obviously, this was the best
show I have ever seen in my life. I was having withdraws today realizing that "that was it", probably the last time I
would ever see them again in concert. And it made me sad that I hadn't appreciated them much sooner. ( Just
became a huge fan about 7 years ago, so sad huh?)   But I sure was thrilled that I got to witness the very best show.
We went to Irvine Meadows on 5-28 and then the Greek last night. I was disappointed with the crowd for Irvine
Meadows. Why do some people even go? I hate seeing half hearted fans. But the die hards were really a joy to
hear yell and scream for their favorites. My favorite was Play for Today on Sunday night only because ever since
The Paris album I have wished to hear it and never did for the next four shows I went to.  And then Wednesday
night at the Greek, I cannot even begin to tell you how many were my favorites. We had friends with us who had
new "favorite songs born" because they hadn't heard all the older Cure stuff before. They were blown away as
were many. Well, I will have to accept the emptiness of not being able to look forward to another concert. Nothing
will ever replace the EVENT of  a Cure Concert.

Well, once again what a show. This was a Brilliant show! The guys played a lot of my mental setlist of songs that I
wanted to hear. Lots of Pornography, how exciting:) Along with the kiss, snakepit, like cockatoos. This set list
was very emotional. Never heard so many Pornography songs live in one sitting. It was a TREAT. I had never
heard the kiss live. Once again, the album version doesn't compare to hearing it live. I have come to a conclusion
that all cure songs should only be played live (don't we wish). I just want to hear the cure live everytime I turn them
on! The crowd was really good tonight. I was impressed with the surrounding people being as excited as I was. I was
real tired at this shows due to the lack of sleep and being on the run since Vegas. Being tired didn't stop me though,
I was very excited. The encore came and EVERY song was worth the lack of sleep I have had since the beginning.
This was my last show, well maybe. My mind keeps trying to find a way to see one more, we'll see:) Well it was nice
being there. I'll remember this FOREVER. IT was nice meeting all kinds of new people as well. Take care all! For
those who are still doing the tour, please enjoy it for the rest of  us who have to go back home:0

The dream is over - what can I say. Last night's show at the Greek had to be the best show of the entire tour so
far. I say that because I have been watching the setlists' develop since the tour began (thanks to chainofflowers
for your superb charting of each show!). The sound at the Greek was extremely good and loud (just the way I like
it!). It was so great to finally get to hear the Pornography encore that I have been reading about. I knew it was just
a matter of time before I got to actually witness it - third time's the charm! (I attended the Las Vegas show and both
Greek shows). The setlist last night surpassed my expectations so greatly that I cannot even begin to express in
words what I'm feeling. If had one disapointment it was that i didn't get to hear "The Drowning Man" during my
three night run. But, here's what they did do for me that more than made up for it:
Watching me Fall
Shake Dog Shake
The Snakepit
The Kiss
100 Years
Like Cockatoos
All Cat's Are Grey
Cold
Pornography
Faith
Boy's Don't Cry
Killing An Arab
All of these songs were the high points for me personally. And, I never thought I would see a Cure show where they
didn't play "A Forest" but that's what happened. In a way I was kind of glad that they didn't play it because it's the
one song that they have been playing consistently at each show probably since it was released. It was a welcome
change even though the reason for them not playing it probably had a lot to do with time curfew on The Greek. As
far as the crowd goes last night's response was better (I thought) than the first night. Most everybody stayed on
their feet for the whole show and showed their appreciation for each song. And, all hell broke loose for the encores
- every where I looked there was people on their feet - dancing, swaying, headbanging (well, actually I was the one
headbanging). This last LA show ranks as the absolute best time I have ever seen The Cure. They will be sorely
missed by me and many others.  Ah - the Dream is truly over............

The second night at Greek was the best! 28 songs well mixed, with the band energtic pouncing and grind between
brand new Bloodflowers material, branching into Pornography. They really finalized the tour showing their best with
Pornography and Cold and All Cats Are Grey.. that was worth the ticket prices we paid! Absolutely the best set list
Jeff and I heard for years, since the 87 tour. Fan-tastic! No gripes on our elation, only that maybe ending with
Faith instead of Killing an Arab, but I'm sure will catch that tomorrow night in San Fran!!

I have read the reviews of the show, and concur with everyone.. I have seen multiple shows of the last three or four
tours, and this one blew them all away!!

I was right up in the front, and could sense Robert's emotion towards the end of the show, especially during 'All
Cats Are Grey'.. he really seemed to project that this was their last time, and that he was saying goodbye.

Musically, the highlights for me were Pornography and The Kiss- really intense.

I could see him exit stage, and right before leaving during the 2nd encore, he stopped and turned while offstage
and just stared at the crowd for a few seconds, taking one last look.

If such a great show was his way of saying goodbye to Los Angeles, then parting truly is such sweet sorrow, and,
this was by far, the sweetest possible.

I was as moved as Robert was.

Dear God, Dear God, Dear God!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have never been so blown away by a concert in my whole entire life! I swear if Robert personally asked me to
write up the entire set list  for the evening, it would NOT of been any better than that.  I am so completely fulfilled
by this concert...I don't really have the words to describe it.  But, as you can see, I'm trying.

I hope all who were trying to attend, made the sold-out show.  I honestly don't think there was one open seat in the
house.  I was lucky enough to see Roger before the show by the bus and get a picture of him.  He's such a
wonderful man.

I'm sorry, but I have to jump right over to encore #1 before I can say anything else.  Could it get anymore
perfect??  When Robert came back out, I was expecting There is No If, which I would of been happy with, but then
when he said, something about it being a group decision to play the next song.....COLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  That's
when I lost it and I'm not ashamed to admit it.  I've never in my life heard that song live and it's one of my
favorites.  I didn't think it was real. Then Robert said something about the next song being one that they don't play
that much.....LIKE COCKATOOS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I almost couldn't take it.  Another one that I had been just dying to
hear.  It sounded sooooo wonderful, so powerful.  Roger was phenomenal on those keyboards.  When that was over,
my heart was racing, I think I was close to some kind of heartattack or something, and then.....STRANGE
DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Okay, okay, now I knew I had died and gone to heaven.  Yet another song, I would of signed
my life away to hear live.  For the love of God, I think I was the happiest I've ever been in my life.  And then came
Robert announcing that he was about to play Pornography.  That was it for me!!!!!!  Life had never been more
complete!  I must sound like a freak saying this, but it's true!

100 years sounded great, powerful as usual.  All Cats are Grey was beautiful....hypnotic.  I think I was in some kind
of trance throughout the whole show.  Siamese Twins was a gorgeous surprise, as was the Snakepit.

I saw many faces that I saw the night before, which was really nice. That's all I can say.  Thanks for reading this!

Wow!

I'm running on empty, my hearing is nearly gone & my pockets are almost depleted, but i don't want this tour to
end!

Last nights set was again brilliant...it was like being back in time....hearing All Cats are Grey, Faith (again), Cold,
Pornography, The Kiss.....what can I say...the party just gets better and better

Getting to hear Where the Birds Always Sing was amazing too, everything was amazing. 2 more shows left for us
and then I'm afraid the party is over:(

"The party just gets better and better..."

The only possible thing that could make this tour any better for me would be to sit in the front row and be
ministered to by Robert.  I swear he looks like he's blessing the crowd.

With last night's set list, I have been fortunate enough to hear every song that they've played on tour so far, with
two notable exceptions:  Drowning Man and Same Deep Waters As You.  I hope to rectify that in San Diego
tonight.  But, to all of you who were there last night at the Greek, thank you for being so into it and helping to make
that the best show so far.

Highlights for me: Strange Day, 100 Years, Like Cockatoos, The Kiss, Killing An Arab, Fascination Street (as
always).  Robert's guitar was spectacular last night.  And that flute! Could he be any more endearing?  The best so
far and no signs of stopping.  On to San Diego!

I'm not sure what to make of all this! The Dream Tour has been the closest thing to life fulfilling as I could possibly
get to.

I saw the show at Irvine and was taken by the set list. I went mad for Shake Dog Shake, and wept through almost
all of Sinking. I chuckled as Robert flubbed the verses for Play for Today, and lived out all my fascination during
Plainsong as I missed the Prayer Tour. Just the thought of hearing such a masterful song live for the first time, I
felt like I was the only one at Irvine.  The audience wasn't ther strongest I've seen, showing it's appreciation to
more specific songs, than a performance as a whole. But overall, most everyone was familiar with all the material.
(What can you say...it was Orange County!)

I missed the first night at the Greek due to scheduling conflicts. My friend tells me his one true highlight was a
mystic "If Only Tonight"
The second night was brilliant....this was definetly a crowd who wanted as much out of the cure as possible!
An ampitheater full of fanatics, the crowd was about as "on fire" as possible. I have to admit, I am not the hugest
fan of the Pornography era songs, but just knowing I was able to witness them live, for the first and only time, sent
shivers through my body. And the best part is, is that most of the rest of the audience felt the same way. Highlights
from this night's show were absolutely "Like Cockatoos" a beyond intense "100 Years", Robert screaming his way
through "The Kiss" Seeing slides of one of my favorite Hollywood dive holes the Frolic Room as the backdrop to
"Fascination Street."
I think the lowest point, and I recall reading this in another review from a fan on this site, was "Where the Birds
Always Sing." It is my most favorite track on the new album, except for Bloodflowers itself, but it just drags on for
hours live.
All in all, the second show was just fanatical. And it was evident that the band was feeding off of our energy. You
could sense they wanted to get in as many songs as possible!
And as an FYI, the marquee to the theater indicated that both nights had sold out.

Now, I have to pack my bags. I am getting ready to fly up to Shoreline. I initially wanted to make the SDSU
show as well, but flight plans would not allow! So we'll see how the Bay Area welcomes the Cure. They're pretty
fanatical as well. Hopefully, another remarkable set list will materialize.

Review by John

Wow, where do I start with this show?  A dream of a set list.  A great audience.  A great night.

I have been waiting for this show, in particular, since the tickets went on sale.  I knew it would be something
special and it most certainly was.  It was almost scary how good the setlist was.  I could have sworn they read my
mind and played everything I wanted to hear.  I got to hear "Where The Birds Always Sing" for the first time and I
actually really liked it.  I have now heard every song from Bloodflowers in the four shows I have seen on this tour.
In The Cure's last contest on their website I voted for "The Kiss" as the song I wanted them to play more of.
I was thrilled to see that it had been played at some of the shows in Europe.  When I saw the little flute attached
to Robert's mic-stand I thought I would have to wait until another day, because they would be playing "The Snake
Pit" tonight.  To my surprise they played both of them.  I also got to see my favorite Cure song of all time, "A
Strange Day", for the first time on this tour.  It was a little flat, but still wonderful.
I finally got to see the encores I had been waiting for.  A "Pornography" encore with "Like Cockatoos"
thrown in, A short Faith encore with "All Cats Are Grey" and "Faith, and a good old fashioned "Boys Don't Cry",
"10:15", and "Killing An Arab" encore preceded by "Lovesong" and "Just Like Heaven". What a great set list.
This was the first time I have ever seen "Pornography" performed live, and I wasn't disappointed.
There were some interesting people in the crowd tonight also.  Trent Reznor was walking around towards the
front and I stood next to all the members of Orgy at the urinals.  I wonder if their next hit single will be "In Between
Days"?
Not only was this the best show I have seen on this tour, but perhaps the best show I have ever seen, dating
back to October of 1985 at Irvine Meadows.  This most certainly is the best setlist I have ever seen.
It is nice to see familiar faces at all the shows, and I am looking forward to seeing everyone again on Friday in
San Francisco.  I think I am going to go to bed at 7 o'clock tomorrow night and finally get some rest.  My students
at school will appreciate it.

i can die happy now.

So, during All Cats are Grey, Robert went to the sides of the audience..he came to me first of course..the previous
night, i had asked him for a kiss..he said "too many people"..so i kissed his hand..TONIGHT, i asked him
for the kiss again, he said "too many people wanting."  poor guy..sooo, he  bent down towards me, kissed his hand
and blew me a kiss!!!!  i grabbed his hand and placed it on my cheek for about five seconds..absorbing the blissful
moment of getting to be in the same presence as the King of Tragic Romance.  I'm so glad i got to talk to him
twice.

set list was PHENOMENOL. my god, every song i wanted to hear live got played  tonight.

songs that stood out:

like cuckatoos
all cats are grey
snakepit
the kiss
siamese twins (i nearly went agro on this one)
cold (!!!!!!)
pornography
strange day (!!!!!!)
killing an arab

Robert Smith is one of the sexiest men alive.  not only his looks, but he is  a raging poet.  he has the best lyrics.
God Bless Them :)

Last night was a dream, but tonight was a never ending fantasy...The sets were amazing and so electric...the entire
Audience was alive and happy to hear their favorite songs...Before Where the Birds Always Sing, Robert
said.."see, I get no time"...as they moved from one song to the next...Robert was also happy to play so many old
songs that he said it felt like yesterday...Before the show, Roger was very friendly and talkative and answered alot
of questions thrown at him...he said that the slides for Fascination Street were some old ones he took in Hollywood
(the Frolic Room)...They are very relaxed and genuinely pleased to be on this tour...too bad we all have to wake up
from our dreams....
