Well, another year has come and gone and now
COF is 6 years old. So time for a new contest, and one that will
hopefully erase the memories of last year's
disaster. This year will be a bit different in terms of the questions,
requiring you to become a Cure setlist psychic.
The contest will run from June 15th - 30th and winners will be
announced on July 6th or 7th. Entries should
be sent to chainofflowers@compuserve.com.

Questions
The Cure will be playing the Ministry of Rock Festival on July 5th and you have to figure out the following:
1. What will be the opening song of the set (not counting an intro like 'Tape' or 'Adagio')? Plainsong
2. What will be the closing song of the set (before the encores)? Bloodflowers
3. What will be the first song of the encore? 3 Imaginary Boys
4.What will be the final song of the encore/show? Don't Believe a Word
5. Will they play 'Cut Here'? No
6. Will they play '100 Years'? Yes
Tie-breakers (only if needed):
7. How many songs in total will the band play at the festival? 20
8. How many songs in total will the band play in the encore? 6
9. In what position will 'From the Edge of
the Deep Green Sea' be in (song #5, song #17, etc)?
("Will not be played" IS an acceptable answer,
but come on!) Song #11
10. What will be the 6th song played? The Kiss

Notes
This contest was originally designed around
the Rockwave festival on July 3rd. Now that it has been canceled,
the contest will apply to the Ministry of
Rock festival on July 5th. Everything remains the same, except
for the date of the winners announcement (was
July 4th, now July 6th or 7th).
Prizes will be awarded to the 3 entries with
the most correct answers. In case of a tie, tie-breaker questions will
be used. If that doesn't settle it, a random
draw will be used. And if one of you can get ALL of the questions
correct, I'll throw in an extra dvd-r and
provide you with your own 1-900 psychic line. : )
1st prize winner will be provided with a list
of programs from which to fill a 2 hour dvd-r. Pick from Hard Rock
Live, MTV Unplugged, A Reflection (1989 Disintegration
special from MTV), Live at the Adrenaline Club
special from 1996, Hangin' With MTV from 1992,
numerous interviews, live tv performances and more.
It can be anything other than commercially
available stuff (In Orange, Play Out, video clips).
While a dvd-r is a said to be compatible with
90% of existing dvd players, I can not guarantee that the
disc will work in your player. Also, regional
coding and NTSC/Pal issues are still being looked into.
Dream Tour cd will be your choice from any of the shows I have.
If the festival should be canceled, the questions will be applied to the next festival played.
That bit about providing a 900 line was a joke.
