Once again, if anyone had come to hear songs from "Galore" they probably left feeling disappointed. Luckily, for most of the fans, this was a night to remember.

It was difficult to see Jason, but the other members of the band looked relaxed, smiling to the crowd from time to time. Simon was very aggressive and punchy with his bass although he didn't have enough space to move around. Robert made a few funny faces and even danced a little.

Near the end Robert said that they were going to play something they hadn't played for a while. It was a rather slow version of "Close to Me" with a strong bass line. At one point Robert seemed to forget the words but he didn't seem too bothered (neither did the crowd).

With its two encores, this was a great show... Just like the old days...

I was lucky enough to be on holiday in Boston when the Cure played there so I has something to compare the UK show I saw to. I went to the Weds Dec 17 London show and enjoyed it - however it didn't have the atmosphere of the Boston show. (That could have been down to the magic of a holiday!)

The UK gig was much longer - about 2 hrs but I can't remember all the songs. Sorry. The extras they played numbered Close To You (including an awful Robert Smith guitar solo - I hope he wasn't being serious) a dodgy version of Why Cant I be You, Piggy In the Mirror- which had the girl next to me in raptures- a good A Forest and a screaming Killing An Arab which was the only thing I could conclusively say was better than the Boston event.

No Holy Hour and Same Deep Water as You - worst luck - they were the highlights of Boston. 100 Years still sounded great as did Strange Day which made me bop down the front! It'll be a little while before I stand one row away from the band again....

The reception was pretty ecstatic and Robert was very talkative - actually that should read mumble - ative ! I couldn't decipher a word he was saying.....

The more intense Cure songs seem to be performed so much better by this version of the Cure - so I hope the next album is in the Pornography/ Disintegration vein..

Great show. The acoustics were very good in this rather small hall. The highlights for me were Shake dog shake, great version of Push, a beautiful Prayers for Rain and 10:15. But especially the overall quality of this show was very great I think (at least much better as when I saw them in Belgium last year). A pity they didn't play Same deep water as you and Holy hour today though.
