Nov. 25th-Essen,Germany (Grugahalle)

Review by Anja

A few hours ago we have seen an excellent concert in Essen, Grugahalle.

As Sascha wrote the setlist down I expect him to post it. I can't rermember it
anyway, I was too busy enjoying the concert.

We (Nicky and me) were in the second row somewhere between Roger and Robert. We
had a lot of fun watching Roger who looked amused at the people, grinning all
the time and shaking his head, murmuring "unbelievable" from time to time. Then
he kept following the people, who were carried out, with his eyes or just closed
them for some time. It wasn't quite clear, if he was enjoying the music or
feeling a bit bored.

Simon was jumping around as always, the only thing I recognised about him was
that he didn't seem to get any space between him and the floor when he was
jumping, he didn't lift his feet very much of the ground.

Robert let the shy little boy hang out as always, but it was really fascinating
to see him that close. I couldn't really believe it during the first songs until
the ellbows of my neighbours reminded me where I was.

When he came on stage first he walked round looking at the audience very
intensive, then he drank the first huge glass of red wine (it looked like that,
maybe mixed with water), many were to follow, and started singing.

The greatest song for me was Funeral Party, as he introduced it you could hear
all the people around whispering "schoen", which means something like beautiful
in english.

And here is another funny bit:
When they came out for an encore, they started playing one of the popsongs (I
can't really remember which one) and Rob switched all the time from singing in a
low voice to a high one and back again. It seemed he couldn't decide how to sing
the song: low or high. Then he stopped for a second, leaning his head back and
spitting the rest of a candy (I hope it was that ...) high in the air and
watched it fall behind his head, pretending to catch it with his tongue.
Funny little Rob. :)

After the show we all wondered why he always wears these warm clothes on stage,
when he is sweating so much. It is definitely to warm with all the lights on.
Why wear a long arm shirt and a flannelshirt (lumbermanshirt) when a simple
t-shirt would do it as well? Maybe he thinks his body is not beautiful enough to
be shown in a t-shirt (to say it the nice way).

Anyway I have to start working now and try to open my eyes after three and a
half hours of sleep.

Greetings to Nicky, Karsten, Andreas and Sascha, I hope you enjoyed the concert
as much as I did.
