The show was shorter than expected, but so great! It was good to see Porl on stage again! Obviously, they played songs from the Wish album, Open was a very good show-starter, but to my opinion, the most interesting song was Just like heaven, since there was no keyboard at all, all parts usually played by Roger being replaced with Porl's guitar. To be honest, although I really love the regular version, this was was maybe even better! What else? The band looked great, Robert's voice was very powerful and the audience really enjoyed the two last songs (Just like heaven and Boys don't cry). Can't wait to see them in St Malo!

As the french TV are usually not as great as the BBC and WRD Rockpalast, i was quite suspicious about the fact that the whole french Live8 will be broadcasted complete. So i decided at 22h00 to make a little trip to the Palais, 2km from my home... Many people, to be honest many "rednecks" and people from the "hot" cities of the Yvelines (Les Mureaux, Trappes). But the atmosphere stayed really cool, and the hundred of policemen, CRS and other security forces did not had to interfer with the crowd. A few people had to be taken to the Red Cross tents, but nothing bad. I was quite surprised that all went to well.

The stage was near of the Palais itself, and two big boring VIP areas blocked the view to people. Hopefully it was possible to see something with the 2 giant screens near of each side of the stage (4 big screens in total).

I arrived at 10h30, and was - unfortunately - able to see the pathetic performance of Florent Pagny...The next act was Placebo, who played for 10 minutes and two songs. Then Zucchero played 3 titles...

Finally The Cure took the stage at 23h45 for the three planned songs (done during the morning rehearsal). Open started and the perfo was really good, great sound, and the return of Porl... He was the only one not really "curist", with a strange english jacket and no hair... 100 Years followed, with projections behind the stage. The global filming by M6/Inter Concerts was quite good, with the exception of stupid girls/boys with their mobile filmed by the crew... Not very usefull... You can notice that the giant screens did not broadcasted the start of Open for around 20 seconds...
At the end of 100 Years, Pol changed his guitar... and the band started End, which was REALLY good ! The band played for around 17 minutes if i remember.

After the performance, the stage - two setups were on a round circle stage which was changed during each set to prepare the next one.

10 minutes after, a stage manager made an announce, to say that Youssou N'Dour was arriving from London to play, and that they will play in a few minutes.

Surprisingly, i saw the round circle stage moving again... and recognize Simon's back ! Oh oh... The Cure are playing extra tracks !!!!! After a few big "plug-ins" sound, Robert started without a word... Just Like Heaven ! Then they played Boys Don't Cry !!! Robert ended by saying that it was due to technical problems (for next act) they played those two songs... And he also said that they may come again...

Finally Youssou N'Dour took the stage around 15 minutes later, having massive technical problems...Dido was invited for the second song, the well known hit of the band... They both sang REALLY FALSE...Hoping of a ALL STARS ENCORE, i stayed until the end... But the last song We Are Africa was played almost acapella by YOussou N'Dour... And the show ended... No big thanks, nothing...

Most of the audience had already left before Youssou perfo, and i went home after a great night and 5 songs of Robert and Co !
