Aug. 31st-Orlando,Fl. (The O-Rena)
Review by Destin Berthelot
I was at the Orlando show, in the front row, seat 16, to be
exact... which puts me pretty damn near front row center for my first
Cure concert. And I must say it was amazing... I don't know if it would
have impressed people who have been to twenty concerts or anything,
as the set list included few rarities (If Only Tonight..., Lovesong,
Hot Hot Hot!!! pretty much cover it), but I thought it was great. My
favorite moments had to be amazing versions of both the Walk, which I don't
even like all that much normally, and Disintegration, which IMHO sounded
way better than any version I've heard recorded anywhere. And from the
front, I could see all the intensity in his eyes during songs like that
and From the Edge... it really heightened the experience. Of course, it
also helped that during LGTB he came down around the stage and sang about
one foot in front of me (he's a couple inches shorter than me- it's SO cool
that I know that firsthand)... so naturally I joined all the crowd in
touching his shoulder like a little teenybopper. But anyway...I just wanted
to say how impressive it all was...especially the improvised bits in YCIBU?
and A Forest also.I should've mentioned that earlier.Hope everyone has that
much fun...
