Review by Craig Hogan

Craig's Rating: A+

One word: legendary. I thought that the 10th was a great show.
This one was even better. The -only- thing that the previous night
had on this one was a little bit more energy, but as you have seen
from other posts, the setlists and little extras were great!

Just as I arrived, Robert came on and did 2 acoustic songs by
himself - Fire in Cairo, and Boys Don't Cry. These were beautiful!
After he did those, he said 'I had better get the others out', and
they went into 'Want'. Someone handed Robert a cellular phone at this
point and he talked on it for a few seconds. Probably somehting to do
with his plane trip.

We got A Night Like This, Push, If Only Tonight We Could Sleep, A
Strange Day, Piggy in the Mirror, Primary, Numb, bits of Foxy Lady,
and Forever. When robert sang 'the sky and the impossible explode'
during A Strange Day, the word 'explode' echoed about 8 times.
Sounded fantastic. Piggy in the Mirror was just as good as ever.
Prayers for Rain had NO yell! But this made it kind of solemn and
erie in a way.

My friend Sonia and I were in the 1st row (!), and she was holding up
various signs suggesting songs for them to play. Well when she held
up 'The Drowning Man' during WCIBY, Robert immediately sang 'Why can't
I be The Drowning Man'! Very cool.

Robert introduced WAYNE HUSSEY (NOT PORL!) at the beginning of A
Forest. Simon taught him the chord progression, and he played
Robert's Chet Atkins (solo parts). The music got REALLY loud, and
they did a fairly decent-lengthed version of Forever after that. At
the end, Perry said goodnight to the audience. Sonia took a picture
of that, so we can spread false rumors that he was singing ;).

BTW, forgot to mention in my Aug. 10th review that Robert said
'This ones for Dave' when A Forest started. He was referring to
Dave Gahan, who was back at the soundboard.
