If you are upgrading from a previous version, unzip (windows) or untar (linux) the files to a convenient location. Then make changes to match your existing configs to the new ones. IMPORTANT CHANGES: 1. You need to place the botcycle.txt file in the /sierra/half-life folder. This is regardless of whether you are running the server in the oz or valve folder. 2. You need to set the "runfolder" cvar in the /cfg/rhobot.cfg file to point to the folder that you will run the server from. For example: runfolder "oz". The runfolder is where the server will look for your bot folder and nav folder. 3. You need to have a nav folder in the same folder you set as your run folder. If you are running a linux server, the permisions must be set so that the user that the server is run as, has permissions to write to the nav folder. If the nav folder is not set up correctly, the server will crash at mapchange. 4. Make sure you place the rune model files in the /oz/models or /valve/models folder, depending on where you are running the server from. Failure to have these models can cause the server to crash on startup. 5. You must replace your /valve/delta.lst file with the one included with oz 3.0, or the new advanced spectator modes will not function properly. =================================================== +-+ +-+ +-+ +-+ +-+ +-+ +-+ |W| |i| |n| |d| |o| |w| |s| +-+ +-+ +-+ +-+ +-+ +-+ +-+ Installation: if you're using the Oz-3.0.zip, unzip it to Sierra/Half-Life/. If you are using the install exe just enter the path to your Half-Life directory and it will do the rest. <------- IMPORTANT -----------> NOTE: BACKUP YOUR CONFIG FILES BEFORE INSTALLING. Allowing the delta.lst file to be overwritten should not cause problems. Make the changes you would like in the .cfg files located in your /oz/cfg/ folder. Note: if you DID NOT use the installer, the included Oz shortcut may need to be modified based on your system (IF you want to use the shortcut). Currently, it will look for the hl.exe in c:\sierra\half-life. Just right click the shortcut and pick properties, then edit the command line for hl.exe. Everything else in that line MUST stay the same, otherwise the mod will not be loaded. If this mod was installed through half-life, you can "activate" it on the custom game menu. =================================================== +-+ +-+ +-+ +-+ +-+ |L| |I| |N| |U| |X| +-+ +-+ +-+ +-+ +-+ Untar the .gz file to your /sierra/hlds_l directory. Allowing the delta.lst file to be overwritten should not cause problems. Make the changes you would like in the .cfg files located in your /oz/cfg/ folder. Log in as the user you would like to run the server as. Do NOT run the server as the root user. cd to your hlds_l folder and start the server like so: ./hlds_l -game oz +maxplayers 16 +map frenzy The Oz Team hopes you enjoy Oz Deathmatch!
