Notice - DOJ Handgun Safety Instructor Training Deadline has Passed
Please be advised that as stated in a letter to firearms dealers dated October 25, 2002, the deadline for submitting applications for the February DOJ Handgun Safety Instructor Training Course was December 2, 2002. The DOJ is no longer accepting applications, and will not be conducting additional training after February. However, DOJ will soon begin listing PC section 12804(j) “comparable” training entities that offer instructor training courses to the public. Upon successful completion of such instructor training, a Certified Instructor Application Form (FD 037) and $14 fee must be submitted to the Department to become a DOJ Certified Instructor in the HSC Program.
If you have already submitted a training request application, but have not received your scheduling confirmation, please be patient. DOJ anticipates notifying all training attendees by January 31, 2003.
