Child Support-Attorney General's Role

The Attorney General's role in family support matters is to assist local district attorneys with technical expertise and to represent the state in support cases which reach the Courts of Appeal. Enforcement of state law is the primary authority of local law enforcement agencies. The Attorney General's role is to ensure that laws are uniformly enforced statewide.
